I am fascinated with nature and its expressions of water. Trees and flowers
laced in vapor, free flowing water and the inner world we can catch through
glimpses of transparency, the mirrored face of serene water and the outward
world it reflects, and water's movement in time with the heart of the world.
It is these aspects of abstract dynamism, rhythm, and harmony that I try to
recreate as sincerely as possible. Needless to say, each is only one aspect that
was captured in my heart..-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -Shigeko Inoue

No.1 The Spring Stream
Deep
in the early spring mountains
of Fukushima
I came across this stream
of melting snow.

No.2 Mizubasho

A local resident told me
that the rapid growth of Mizubasho
in the Tsuchiyu region
produces the interesting flowers
that sit at the bottom of the plant.

No.3 Wild Water Lilies
With their slender legs
stretching through the lake water,
the leaves of the water lilies
eclipse the surface keeping the rhythm
while white flowers accent the beat.

No.4 The Wild Water Lily of Oze
The mysterious harmony
of water
simultaneously reflected
under, on and above
the surface.
