Gallery was founded by Habib Anavian (1915-1995)
....A major force
in the arts of Islam and the ancient Near East,
Habib Anavian has supplied many of the most significant pieces
in the field today. In almost every major museum and every sig-
nificant private collection in the world you can find pieces that
were once handled by Habib Anavian.
....In 1967 Mr.
Anavian became a Fellow for life of the Metropo-
litan Museum of Art due to his contributions and ability to find
master-pieces in the arts of Islam and the Ancient Near East.
....After leaving the firm of "Farhardi
& Anavian" in the early
1970's, Mr.Anavian opened the gallery that is now known as
"Anavian Gallery". Today thegallery is owned and operated by his
two sons Paul & Robert Anavian.
...In 1976 Anavian Gallery published three
books entitled:
Iranian Art from the 5th Millennium B.C. to the7thCenturyA.D.
Ancient Near Eastern Cylinder and Stamp Seals from the Early 6th
Millenium B.C. to 651 A.D.
Iranian Art from the 8th to 19th Century
....Presently, Anavian Gallery continues
to supply significant
pieces in the arts of the Near East. All artifacts are guaranteed
